Myriam Rathe Nurse, Nanny and Sleep Consultant
I am a professional sleep consultant who provides expert guidance about healthy sleeping behaviours. I provide assistance in order to achieve your family’s sleep goals so you can all thrive.
I have been in the caregiving industry since I was 19 years old. My journey is a little bit atypical, as I started my career as a nurse for 3 wonderful years. It helped me see how you can make a significant difference in someone else's life and how you can impact patients, families and colleagues for the better. Unlike the majority of sleep consultants who became engaged in the industry due to their own child rearing experiences as moms, I chose this career because I believe that offering an objective approach to sleep training is best.
After a while, I decided to pursue my dream to travel solo for 9 months around the world. That experience gave me the chance to work as an au pair and nanny in different families. They have shown me how every family is different and lives with different challenges. In New Zealand I fell in love with childcare. It opened my eyes to an interest that I wanted to study even more.
Upon my return to Canada, I decided to do my certification with Qc Career School to become a baby sleep consultant because teaching has always been something I'm really passionate about. That interest started when I was a nurse and now it is flourishing by teaching families how to instill good sleeping behaviors so you can become more confident in your sleeping journey.

My approach is your approach
All children are different and nobody knows your child better than you do. I support your knowledge of your child so I can customize the best sleep plan for his or her needs. I value your desire to feel completely satisfied with everything that we implement together. I invite you to be honest and open about what is working or not in your family. I accommodate different parenting styles and I thrive by creating a safe relationship with families.
Raising a child can be really challenging so I will meet you where you are, no judgement. I offer a safe place so we can discuss solutions that satisfy everyone. I understand the ramifications of exhasution and am here to help you get back to a place where you are able to get the amount of sleep that you deserve.
My job is to develop and implement a customized sleep plan to help your child fall asleep independently and stay asleep. I will guide you to see improvements in your child’s sleep habits so you can become a well-rested family.
I follow three easy steps: First step, I collect your information so I can customize the approach. Second, I will consult with your family to make any necessary adjustments and the last step is where the magic happens. We will implement and adjust your sleep plan for the needs of the whole family.
The most common question I receive:
Will my baby cry?
Babies cry to protest or communicate. Making changes in their routine may result in some protest. It is likely for there to be at least some amount of crying in order to achieve better results.
Please understand that I will never tell you that you need to let your baby cry alone for hours or let him cry until exhaustion. I have many different tools besides the “cry it out’’ method and will always adjust to your level of comfort and that’s why my methods are so efficient. I adapt to your level of comfort so we can all be on the same page.
